Are you ready to let go of that exhaustion and heavy pressure you’re feeling?
Darling, you’re home. But first let me introduce myself. My name is Micala Duvoux (pronounced Doo-voo). I’m a heart-centred entrepreneur and life coach.
I help overwhelmed women sift through the roles and responsibilities to find lightness, joy and purpose.
In a nutshell I believe in truth, freedom and love.
I also believe:
//There’s room for everyone to shine. I believe that when we raise each other we all win. I get full satisfaction from seeing someone else succeed. Jealousy has no place in my world.
//It’s time to let down our barriers. To share our imperfections. To stop feeling inferior because we’ve compared ourselves to some random person on the internet (truth: nobody has their shit together).
//When we're in tune with our values, our strengths, our uniqueness, life starts to get really interesting. I believe when we gently listen to our inner voice, our soul compass, and let it guide us, life gets truly wonderful.
//Compassion for others and for ourselves are the only way forward. We really need to be our own best friend. Show yourself some kindness and understanding and miracles can happen.
//In saying no to the things that bring me down and yes to protecting my heart. I switch off the TV series that makes me uncomfortably scared. I don’t read newspapers and I don’t watch the news (otherwise I sob). I do follow beautiful souls on social media who inspire me and make me feel good.
//In life long learning. In growth and expansion.
//In the power of forgiveness and how it can move us forward. In shedding the heavy load and moving towards lightness.
And I absolutely don’t believe in keeping up with the Jones’. What the Jones get up to is their own business and it has nothing to do with me. Although I do have a friend whose surname is Jones and she’s very lovely.
How I got here:
Today I live in Spain with my husband, two kids, one dog and one rabbit. We’re thoughtfully and intentionally creating a beautiful, happy, location independent life for ourselves, solidly building on our values and strengths.
But it wasn’t always like that. Many moons ago I fell into a purchasing job in an international organisation in Geneva. A job that had a generous tax-free salary and amazing holiday leave in a very beautiful part of Europe. I travelled, I holidayed, I bought a flat. But after a few years I was going home every evening and crying. I had no idea why but I knew I was way off my path. After too many nights of soggy tissues I said goodbye to that tax free salary and my incredulous colleagues and left.
Since then, my path has had beautiful twists and turns.
//I started and ended an interior design business.
//I became a wife and mama.
//I started and ended a creative business printing, sewing and selling organic and fair trade accessories.
//I said yes to way to way too many things I should have said no to. Too many dinners. Too many soul-draining events. Too many roles I thought would look good on my CV. I was feeling more and more lost and disconnected from my true purpose, my soul compass.
//I’ve done many, many e-courses and I’ve read lots and lots of personal development books.
Eventually I found the courage to go for what had been calling my soul for years. I signed up for a internationally certified coaching course with the most wonderful, heart-centred training course there is, and became a life coach.
Becoming brave enough to follow my soul compass and take action has changed everything.
At last I stopped being afraid of what other people would think of me.
I gave up trying to squeeze myself into a business that didn’t quite fit.
I finally realised that I can be a really good life coach even though I’m not perfect. Quite the opposite, I actually want to show up wholeheartedly, imperfectly, to share my vulnerabilities, to tell my truth, to encourage you to be courageous too.
Today my heart sings at how ME my life is and I would absolutely love the same for you.
I’ve coached business owners and solopreneurs, busy mums and beautiful soul-searchers. The goals that connect them are wanting to feel flow, ease, happiness, intention, clarity. I hold hands virtually with my clients as they dig deep to discover their uniqueness, gift themselves with self-compassion and sift through the limiting beliefs and fears that were holding them back from becoming who they were meant to be.
I hold space for them to expand as they shed their overwhelm.
I intently listen to them take courage and find new energy.
I feel their lightness, their consciousness and their beauty. Their absolute radiance.
Other random things about me:
//I’m an INFJ on the Myers-Briggs test. I use my intuition and how I feel about something as my guiding light in pretty much most situations, including coaching.
//I love to design. I love printing by hand. I have a good eye for patterns - spotting repetitive patterns either on wallpaper or in people’s lives. A dream came true when my "parasols" pattern was featured on Print and Pattern!
//In true Love Actually style, I love hanging out in arrivals at airports. And I always always tear up seeing people reunite.
//I see the details. I notice when something isn’t said. And also when someone wants to say more.
//I love the sea. Its energy and expansiveness calms me and puts everything in perspective. I once had a coaching session on the beach, sitting side by side with my client, and it was heavenly.
//My perfect holiday would combine camping on a small campsite by a lake with my family, hiking in the mountains and then doing yoga by myself. Or the other way around, I’m not fussy 🙂
